Born and raised in San Diego, Mikey always had a passion for cooking from a young age. Mikey started meal-prepping in his early twenties when he was “young and broke”–– so he needed to find a way to make meal prepping affordable. Flavor, culture, and health were also major priorities for the burgeoning chef.
“Growing up in San Diego, I was exposed to a variety of diverse cultures and I strive to showcase that through our meals,” says Mikey. “Having struggled with my weight my whole life, I set out to give people the classic dishes that I loved growing up, but with a healthier spin.
Armed with passion and a “never quit” mindset, Mikey took years testing recipe after recipe to create the menu he offers through Mikey’s Mealz today. Understanding that a weight-loss journey is a marathon not a sprint, Mikey prides himself on educating customers on how to live a healthier lifestyle without sacrificing flavor and diversity.
Currently 29 years old, Mikey has built a thriving meal prep business that he takes great pride in. He has also lost over 100 pounds through diet and exercise.
